The Mirror Ball If you want to go for a walk away from the town, then I would recommend The New South Promenade. Just past The Pleasure Beach is a long stretch of a walkway with steps every now and then leading onto the beach. Along the way, you will see 10 works of art, one of them being the largest mirror ball in the world. If you want to roller skate, ride a bike or just walk, then this is the place.
The Blackpool Tower Located just behind us, in the town centre, The Blackpool Tower stands at 518 feet and 9 inches. Get a fantastic view from The Tower Top and take a "walk of faith" over the glass floor! A fantastic full day out for all members of the family. Book tickets for The Tower Circus with Mookie the clown, enjoy a relaxing afternoon in The Tower Ballroom by dancing or watching others dance, take the children for a Dinosaur ride followed by a few hours play in Jungle Jims. It's the largest play area I've ever seen. A few ball pools for the young ones and nets, ladders, ropes, etc... for all other children. There is also the Aquariun when first entering The Tower. Spectacular. Food and drinks are available and there is also The Family Bar. Blackpool Tower is definetly one not to miss. Phone 01253 292029
The Central Pier The Central Pier which is recognized by it's Big Wheel has something for everyone. Of course the Big Wheel. The view from the top as you go around is unbelievable. Have a go if you have a strong stomach! There are plenty of arcades for those of you who feel lucky, rides for the daring and the young and then there is The Pier End Family Bar offering childrens entertainment day and night and a place for adults to have a drink. Take a walk out to the end and catch the sunset. Don't forget your camera.
The Winter Gardens A stones throw from us is The Winter Gardens, which opened to the public in 1878 and has seen many, many stars from Frank Sinatra to Ronan Keating. The impressive Empress Ballroom which plays host to Dancers, Politicians, Sportsmen, Entertainers and Musicians is a must see. Boasting the country's largest theatre, if you get a chance to see a show at The Opera house, it is completely recommended. Visit The Winter Gardens web site for booking details and more on the history.
